Woo, so, here we are. The very first post, evar. Except for the test posts; of which there were a lot, but, you know, we won’t count those.
Right now, besides working on the site, we’re contemplating our first trip. Most likely, this is going to be from somewhere in Scotland or Wales. There’s an equal probability that our first trip will be slightly the reverse of what it would normally be, and that we’ll be taking my Saab 9000 for a long road trip (she’s been off the road for the past 6 months) – a) to get her back on the road b) to test out how insane this whole idea is going to be.
If we take my car or an ebay-special depends entirely on whether we can find one in a suitable location that is cheap enough – all the ones that we’ve been watching so far have rapidly gone above £150 in their closing hours… it’s funny watching the junk that people will pay good money for.
This leads me to an idea, which, probably won’t help us much in the beginning, but, after we have regular visitors hitting the site, may perhaps help us then – if you know of someone who wants to get rid of their car and is willing to accept <£150 for it, on the basis that it will provide much hilarity and most likely be scrapped at the end of the trip, then, just leave us a comment. We don’t mind too much where it is, and we’re planning to build our own road-trip in the cases of finding cars that are within 100 or so miles of home to avoid short-and-boring things from occurring.
If you’re abroad and have a junk car to sell, that’s fine too! So long as it’s within europe, and there’s an airport or train-station near by, we’ll consider it.
